Shipping Cattle Without Brand Inspection Plea

Alliance, NE – On March 27, 2014, James J Henderson of Verdel, NE entered a plea of guilty in the County Court of Knox County, NE for violation of Nebraska’s Livestock Brand Act, Leaving the Nebraska Brand Inspection Area Without Brand Inspection, a Class II Misdemeanor.

According to court records, James Henderson did on or about December 20, 2013, move cattle from a point within the brand inspection area near Niobrara, Knox County, Nebraska, to a point outside the brand inspection area, Yankton, South Dakota sale barn, without the cattle being brand inspected by the Nebraska Brand Committee and having a Certificate of Brand Inspection issued.

He was ordered to pay a fine amounting to $250.00 and court costs totaling $49.00.
