Brown County, NE Man Sentenced

On June 19, 2013, Micky D. Davis of Ainsworth, NE was sentenced in Brown County District Court following a plea agreement that was reached on April 29, 2013, in which he pled guilty to 2 counts of Theft, a Class IV Felony.

District Court Judge Karen Noakes sentenced Mr. Davis to 2 three year terms of probation to be served concurrently; two ninety day jail sentences to be served May 1, 2014 and May 1, 2015, which is waived if probation is successful; he must write apology letters to the victims within thirty days; pay a $30 Probation Fee and $25 a month for three years and; successfully complete and pay for a Precognitive Behavior Class.

According to court records, Micky Davis took three head of cattle from two neighbors in the Fall of 2010 from a pasture in Brown County, NE. He then rebranded the cattle at a feedlot in the same county and attempted to sell them at the Bassett sale barn in Bassett, NE in the Fall of 2011. Nebraska Brand Committee Brand Inspectors alerted their Area Criminal Investigator and the cattle were recovered for the rightful owners.
